Visit the MGG
Over 500 native flora species. Over 60 animal, flora, fungal, and human-likeness sculpture totems.

The MGG is open during daylight hours, May 1 through October, and is self-guided. Please call 320-390-2323 for seasonal information.
Signage is posted throughout the garden and brochures are available at the front gate. A circular parking lot for cars and small RV’s is across the road; large RV’s and buses must park on the road. Please do not park in the MGG driveway.
Please observe the paths in order to preserve the flora. To protect wildlife and flora, pets are not allowed in the MGG (with an exception for service animals.) There is a dog run in the parking lot.

Suggested donation: $5/person; children under 13 are free. Guided tours are $75 as of 2026 by appointment. The artist can accommodate 3 handicapped persons on a golf cart, in conjunction with a tour, for an additional $15 fee.
The MGG is a 501-c3 non-profit. The Minnesota Goose Garden does not receive any federal funding and relies solely on public donations and arts foundation grants.
Signage is posted throughout the MGG detailing the utility of each plant, and explaining the historical significance of each sculpture. Titles of flora are written in English, Ojibwe and Latin.
The Ojibwe belief was that every type of plant has a use, as given to them by the Creator, Gitchi Manitou.
There are no weeds in the Ojibwe world.
Totem animals were the Ojibwe form of government and also defined individuals.

Totems in the MGG: Caribou, Black Bear, Grey Wolf, Canada Lynx, Moose, Timber Rattlesnake, Bald Eagle, Sandhill Crane, Channel Catfish, Common Loon, Pine Marten, Northern Pike, Merman, Double-Crested Cormorant, Canada Goose, White Sucker, Sturgeon, Lake Whitefish, North American Beaver, Herring Gull and Red-Tailed Hawk.
